During his 50 years of practicing law, Nick Chilivis has represented a variety of individuals and businesses in nearly every area of the law before all levels of trial and appellate courts, from the Georgia state courts to the United States Supreme Court. Some of these include his successful defense of former Office of Management and Budget Director Bertram Lance against federal criminal charges in 1981, his successful representation of the University of Georgia Athletic Association in a trademark infringement dispute in 1985, and his successful representation of the family of one of the victims of the highly-publicized Atlanta sinkhole in the mid-1990's. Mr. Chilivis has also represented clients in a wide variety of administrative and other quasi-litigation arenas. Mr. Chilivis was a Trial Practice Seminar instructor at the University of Georgia School of Law from 1964-1974, Commissioner of the Department of Revenue for the State of Georgia from 1975 through 1977, and is currently a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of the International Society of Barristers. In 1995, Mr. Chilivis received the Tradition of Excellence Award from the State Bar of Georgia. Mr. Chilivis is listed in the publication Best Lawyers in America in three separate categories (Business Litigation, Criminal Law and Personal Injury), and was also listed in Atlanta Magazine's listing of the top lawyers in Atlanta in each of these categories.

While Mr. Chilivis has retired from the day-to-day practice of law, he remains of counsel to the firm, and continues to be involved in a number of ongoing matters. Mr. Chilivis also continues to arbitrate matters through the America Arbitration Association.
