J.D. “Randy” Dalbey graduated from the University of Georgia Law School, cum laude, in 1988, whereupon he served a clerkship under the Honorable Dudley H. Bowen, Jr., Southern District of Georgia, before joining the firm in 1990.

In the 25 years Randy has been with the firm, he has represented clients in many different types of complex litigation, including antitrust, RICO, products liability, False Claims Act and other complex commercial and personal injury matters, from initial investigation through jury trials and appeals. Randy specializes in representing individuals and small businesses, including physicians and physician practices, in all forms of dispute resolution. However, he also has represented large corporations such as General Electric and Novartis Pharmaceutical in litigation matters. Randy has also handled a variety of administrative matters before state agencies. Randy has been rated by Martindale-Hubbell as “AV Preeminent” for ten consecutive years, and has been listed as a Georgia “Super Lawyer” by Atlanta Magazine for three straight years.

  • U.S. ex rel. Hanks v. Augusta Oncology, et al., 1:08-CV-03096 (E.D. NY)(defense of oncology practice alleged to have violated False Claims Act);
  • GMN Investors v. CDC Software, Case No. 12EV016287B (represented private investment funds in suit to collect unpaid earn-out following sale of company)
  • Represented Novartis Pharmaceuticals in multiple cases in Georgia in national bisphosphonate litigation
  • Boiler Efficiency, Inc. v. GE Betz, Inc., 1:09-cv-1242 (defense of GE subsidiary in lawsuit arising out of South Carolina chlorine tanker derailment)
  • Boeck, Foreman and Stephenson v. GE Energy and Industrial Services, et al, (defense of two GE subsidiaries in series of cases arising out of equipment explosion at paper mill);
  • Linfert v. Bethel Homes, Case no. 2005-CV-106225 (defense of property developer and homeowner association in suit by investor)
  • Dugal v. Peachtree Hills Associates Limited Partnership, Case No. 00A101366 (defense of shopping center owner in case alleging environmental contamination)
  • Shah v. Yager, 1:98-cv-0077 (representing plaintiff father in lawsuit regarding the kidnapping of his children by ex-wife)
